PRIVACY & TERMS
Write Urdu privacy policy and terms
Write Urdu is a free collection of Urdu writing tools. Most creative work stays on your device; this page also explains the explicit public-publishing feature and the services that may receive information.

DATA PROCESSING
Where information is processed
Drafts, normal Card Studio work and static QR codes are processed in your browser. Roman Urdu transliteration suggestions and optional whole-text conversion use the Google transliteration service when available, so submitted words or passages may be sent to Google. Urdu web fonts are requested from Google Fonts; the font request does not contain your editor or card text. Public sharing is different: nothing is uploaded for a public share until you explicitly choose Publish & Share.
| Feature | Processing | Stored or shared |
|---|---|---|
| Basic and rich editors | Drafting and formatting run locally; transliteration may use Google. | Drafts may use browser storage; text is sent for conversion only when transliteration is used. |
| Urdu Voice Typing | Write Urdu asks the browser or operating platform to recognize Urdu speech after you press Start voice typing. | Depending on the browser or platform, microphone audio may be processed by a provider-operated recognition service and an internet connection may be required. Write Urdu does not create its own audio recording or upload pipeline for this tool. |
| Product usage telemetry | Instrumented product pages send first-party aggregate interaction events to Write Urdu. Public pages may also classify the current arrival into a coarse source such as Google Search, other search, direct/unknown, referral, campaign or internal navigation. | Event type, normalized route/tool, coarse text-length and active-time buckets, input mode, export format, device class and an ephemeral tab-session identifier may be processed. Public-share telemetry normalizes all individual share routes to one generic route and does not transmit the share ID. Written text, filenames, clipboard contents, email, full referrer URLs, campaign values and user-agent strings are not part of these telemetry events. The arrival signal adds no persistent cross-session identifier. |
| Card Studio | Text and local backgrounds render in the browser during normal design work. | Projects and source assets may be stored locally. They are not uploaded merely because you edit, download or share an image file. |
| Public share links | Only after you explicitly choose Publish & Share, Write Urdu uploads the selected rendered card snapshot and the public data needed to display its short share page. | The rendered PNG, public Urdu text, optional enabled attribution, source-tool/preset information, a random share identifier, a hash of the private management token and limited operational/moderation fields are stored using Write Urdu's Cloudflare services. If a local photo appears in the rendered card, it is naturally visible inside the uploaded published PNG; the original local source file and unrelated drafts are not uploaded as separate assets. A parent-share relationship may be stored when a recipient creates and publishes a new share so aggregate reproduction can be measured without linking that relationship to an analytics session. |
| Urdu web fonts | Fonts are delivered by Google Fonts. | Normal request data such as IP address may be processed. |
| QR Generator | Your QR content and logo are processed on your device. | Projects may be saved in IndexedDB; no external QR service receives the content. |
| Contact and feedback | Submitted form fields pass through a Write Urdu Cloudflare Pages Function and Cloudflare Turnstile before a private email notification is delivered. | Only fields you submit are sent. Editor drafts, local images and browser-stored projects are not attached automatically. Cloudflare and Turnstile may process normal request data needed to deliver and verify the request. |
| Analytics, ads and embedded media | Third-party providers may load on pages that include them. | Providers may process technical information, cookies or ad events under their own policies. User-created public share pages are ad-free in the initial sharing release. |
URDU VOICE TYPING
Microphone access and speech recognition
Urdu Voice Typing starts only after you choose Start voice typing. The page uses the speech-recognition capability provided by your browser or operating platform and requests Urdu recognition. Write Urdu does not start listening automatically when the page opens.
Speech recognition is implemented differently across browsers and devices. Some platforms perform recognition locally, while others may send microphone audio to a provider-operated recognition service and may require an internet connection. Those provider-side processing details are controlled by the browser or platform you use.
Write Urdu does not create a separate audio recording, does not upload microphone audio to a Write Urdu API, and does not include recognized transcript text in first-party product telemetry. The editable transcript remains in the page unless you explicitly copy it, continue into another Write Urdu tool, save it through a separate account feature, or publish it through a separate sharing action.
CONTACT & FEEDBACK
What happens when you send a message
The Contact and Feedback forms send the fields you choose to enter to a same-origin Write Urdu Pages Function. Cloudflare Turnstile is used to reduce automated spam. After successful validation, a private service-bound mailer sends an email notification to the project mailbox. Write Urdu does not store a separate copy of the form submission in the product-telemetry database.
Depending on the form, submitted fields can include your name, reply email, topic, subject, optional rating and message. A reply email is used only to answer the message. Do not include passwords, confidential documents, payment information, private conversations or more example text than is necessary to explain a problem.
Contact submissions are used to answer product, technical, privacy, accessibility and general questions. Feedback submissions are used to understand bugs, friction and product-improvement ideas and may be submitted without a name or email. Messages and related email records are retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, investigate the issue, maintain appropriate correspondence records or meet applicable obligations.
If the protected form service is unavailable, the public fallback address is admin@write-urdu.com. In that case your own email provider and the receiving mail provider process the message according to their policies.
LOCAL DATA
How to clear local data
Use the editor draft-history controls, Card Studio reset controls or QR Generator reset controls. You can also clear site data for write-urdu.com in browser settings. Downloaded files must be deleted separately from your device. The anonymous product-telemetry session identifier is stored only in session storage and expires with the browser tab/session. Coarse arrival telemetry does not create a browser-storage identifier.
If you have published public share links, clearing local browser storage can remove the management tokens used for self-service deletion. It does not automatically remove the already-public server snapshot. Delete managed public links before clearing site data when you want those published snapshots removed.
ACCOUNT & DATA DELETION
Deleting your account and account-saved writing
Write Urdu's core writing tools do not require an account. If you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, that identity is used only to recognize your account; it does not upload your existing local drafts.
If you sign in and explicitly choose Save to my account for a document, that document is stored under your account so you can reopen it on another device through My Documents. Local autosave/history in your browser is separate and is not affected by account sign-in or sign-out.
To request deletion of your account, use Contact Write Urdu (or email admin@write-urdu.com) from the address associated with your sign-in, or state which provider (Google or Facebook) you used. On request, Write Urdu deletes:
- your Auth.js identity, linked provider account and session records;
- any documents you explicitly saved to your account through Save to my account.
Local drafts and history stored in a browser on a specific device are not part of this remote deletion; clear them directly from that browser using the local-data controls described above. Deletion requests are processed within a reasonable time and may be retained briefly in operational logs/backups as needed to complete the request and meet applicable obligations.

PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. Write Urdu respects privacy regarding information processed while operating the website.
Write Urdu uses first-party product telemetry on instrumented product pages to understand whether a writing or creation surface is used, coarse writing-length and active-time ranges, copy/export/share outcomes, input mode and internal product handoffs. A separate coarse arrival classification can distinguish categories such as Google Search, other search, direct/unknown, referral, campaign and internal navigation. The classification happens in the browser; Write Urdu receives the category and route, not the full referrer URL, search query or campaign value. Public-share telemetry sends a normalized generic share route rather than the individual share identifier. This telemetry does not transmit the Urdu or Roman Urdu text you write and does not use a persistent cross-session user identifier.
Most creative work remains local to the browser. When you explicitly use Publish & Share, the selected rendered snapshot and its public display data are intentionally sent to and stored by Write Urdu so the public link can function. The public-share service is distinct from normal local drafts. The relationship between a public parent share and a newly published child share may be retained for aggregate product-loop measurement, but that relationship is not joined to anonymous browser-session identities.
Third-party services may be used for transliteration, browser/platform speech recognition, analytics, advertising, web fonts, spam protection and embedded media. Those providers may process technical information or cookies according to their policies. Information submitted through Contact, Feedback or email is used for the purpose described at submission, such as responding to a question or improving the service.
- Personal information will be collected by lawful and fair means and, where appropriate, with knowledge or consent.
- Purposes for collection will be identified at or before collection.
- Information will be used for those purposes or related lawful purposes unless consent or law permits otherwise.
- Personal data should be relevant, accurate, complete and reasonably current for its intended purpose.
- Reasonable safeguards will be used against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
- Information about privacy practices will be made available to visitors.
- Personal information will be retained only as long as necessary for the relevant purpose.
Write Urdu may update this privacy policy from time to time. For privacy questions or a request that needs a reply, use Contact Write Urdu. For product ideas or corrections, use the feedback page.
